Overview

We will not monitor your email directly, but require for your email system to forward email to a unique inbox in our system. This gives you control over exactly what is sent to us and can control cost. You will need to create forwarding rules in your email system. Below are guides for two common systems, Microsoft 365 and Gmail. Your system may differ, but you can use this a an example for what you can do.

In the examples below towservice@em.247dispatch.com is the forwarding email address. You will be provided with a unique address. When you have setup email forwarding, please notify us so we can test and confirm forwarding is setup correctly.

Gmail

  1. Open Gmail in your web browser.
  2. In the search box at the top, click the “Show search options”  button on the right of the search bar.
  3. Enter the following search criteria:
    • From: -[your-forwarding-email-address] (example: -towservice@em.247dispatch.com).
    • This makes sure emails that we send back to you are not sent to us, creating a loop. This is really important!
    • You can also use the other fields to refine what you want sent to us to monitor.
  4. Click “Search” to verify that your search worked correctly.
  5. At the bottom of the search window, click “Create filter”.
  6. Choose what you’d like the filter to do:
    • Check “Forward it to” and enter towservice@em.247dispatch.com as the forwarding address.
    • Optionally, you can also select other actions like labeling, archiving, or deleting the email.
  7. Click “Create filter”.

Now, here’s the crucial part: Google may prompt you to verify the forwarding address. Follow these steps to complete the verification process:

  1. A notification may be sent to the forwarding email for verification. You need to notify us.
  2. We will attempt to verify with a link, but may send you a verification code that you may need to use to complete the verification process in your Gmail account.
  3. Once verified, Gmail will start forwarding emails.
