Getting started with Authorize.net

To begin utilizing the enhanced credit card processing system, you will need to register with Authorize.net. This section will guide you through the registration process, ensuring that you have everything set up correctly to take advantage of the system's features and benefits. Please work with the dedicated account representative to get your account setup.

Step 1: Create an Authorize.net Account

We have a dedicated representative with Authorize.net that will help you get started.  Please email the account representative with your contact details. They will reach back out to you and walk you through account setup. Most applications are approved immediately and go live within 24 hours.  Authorize.net offers two types of accounts, the account representative will make sure you have the correct account type.
 
All-in-One Account: If you are looking for a comprehensive solution that includes both payment gateway services and a merchant account, the All-in-One Account is a suitable choice. This option allows for seamless integration between payment processing and fund transfers directly to your account.

Payment Gateway Only Account: If you already have a merchant account and are solely interested in integrating Authorize.net as your payment gateway, the Payment Gateway Only Account is the appropriate selection. This account type enables you to benefit from Authorize.net's secure payment processing capabilities while continuing to use your existing merchant account.

Step 2: Obtain Your Authorize.net Credentials

After successfully registering, you will need to get API credentials from Authorize.net, including an API login ID and a transaction key. These credentials are crucial for integrating Authorize.net with our credit card processing system and ensuring secure communication. You can follow the instructions in the link below or work with the Authorize.net account representative to walk you through the process.

Step 3: Integrate Authorize.net with The Exchange

Once you have obtained your Authorize.net credentials, please call us to let us know what they are so we can test the integration and complete the setup. We will work with you to configure the necessary settings and establish a secure connection between our system and Authorize.net.

Preauthorization Process

According to your instructions, The Exchange will handle the preauthorization of payments when a customer calls in for towing services. This step ensures that the necessary funds are reserved for the transaction and allows for a streamlined payment process.

Client Completion Options

After preauthorization, clients have two options to complete the transactions with their customers:
  1. Driver Completion: Your staff will take charge of completing the transaction. They will be able to view a preauthorization in the Authorize.net mobile app and can complete the transaction easily and securely. This option allows for seamless and efficient payment experience between The Exchange, your staff, and your customers.
  2. Assistance from The Exchange: If you prefer assistance in completing the transaction, your staff have the option to call us back and our team can finalize the payment.
